Hi, I'm Stephanie Wright.

I'm a journalist interested in local news, data reporting, audience engagement, and social media. Currently, I work as a digital editor and producer for the Federal News Network in Washington, DC.  I'm passionate about strengthening trust and relationships between news organizations and the communities they serve through accurate, relevant reporting — especially about politics and government — and digital engagement strategies.

For the 2024-25 academic year, I worked as editor-in-chief of The Daily Orange, Syracuse University's independent student newspaper. At The Daily Orange, I covered campus and local news for all four years of my time on campus. As editor-in-chief, I managed a staff of 50 students as we produced daily content, including a weekly print edition.

Most recently, I published an investigation into how an SU alum faced delays in a sexual assault lawsuit against the university, and reported on changes to a diversity fellowship at SU because of a federal directive.

I also previously worked as an intern for The Pulse of GovCon, a research and advisory firm for the federal contracting marketplace, where I conducted research and analysis on federal contracts and policy. I published an article in Contract Management magazine through this internship. I have further extensive experience working in communications and copy editing.

I hold a dual bachelor's degree in political science and magazine, news, and digital journalism from Syracuse University.
